Some people think that success is most important in their life. Others think that it’s more important to be happy when they fail. Who do you agree with and why?

It is an incontrovertible fact that success and failure cannot be separate from each other. Although some people think that there are few thing more important than success in life, I believe otherwise. I am of the opinion that optimism and happiness after failure are much more beneficial for us for two main reasons which are elaborated below.

To begin with, there is a belief among most people that failure is nothing but weakness, which is utterly wrong. Needless to say, there is a lesson in every failure and mistake for indivials who have deep perspective. Although some people ignore the value of a failure with constructive lessons, I believe failure means "Latent triumph." To illustrate this, I would like to mention Edison's famous quote about inventing the light bulb: "I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Therefore, so far-reaching is the definition of success that every risk, mistake, and failure can be a latent triumph. If we do not happy because of discovering a way which does not end to a breakthrough, and do not take the blessing of this finding for granted, how will be able to keep our motivation up to continue the path of reaching success? Indeed, having made quite a few mistakes ring life, and having learned their lessons having indescribable value, people could have discovered such a useful thing.

Additionally, failure is an inseparable part of human race's life. With this in mind, hardly can be guaranteed that a person will not face with failures ring his or her childhood to althood. Accordingly, indivials should accept that they are supposed to encounter with ups and downs ring life, and thus they should be able to tolerate them by being happy and optimistic. One of my friends, for instance, having a serious monetary issue and lived in a poor family but had a big dream in his mind--accepting in a well-known university. Having withstood many hard situations, and having failed after many attempts, by the virtue of optimism and passionate in the face of problems, he reached to his "Golden-dream." Consequently, it is crystal clear that happiness, and keeping spirit how is of great influence in a person's success and prosperity.

In the light of these crucial reasons, I strictly believe that human should change their opinion about failures. Indivials should tattoo in their mind that failure not only can pave the way toward big success but also can help us be strong and go not give up our dreams and hopes.

嗯嗯，作为一个刚刚结束托福考试的孩纸~看到楼主的这个问题就忍不住来发言了，而且楼楼提到的那些资料我都有用过……自我感觉自己算是个过来人，所以……忍不住多嘴了……当然，以下发言全部都是个人经验哦，楼主可以随意看看

首先，我觉得呢，因为托福考试是网考的嘛，所以买纸质版的书真的很没有必要，不但很浪费钱，而且个个的厚的跟个板砖一样的，根本都不高兴翻开来看。所以我建议楼楼下载电子版，电子版是免费的，而且轻便，放在电脑里也好看。楼楼提到的那些作文资料我都是在网上下载的。

其实，我刚开始准备考托福的时候，也和楼楼一样，在网上问了半天的人，然后买了一堆一堆的书~李笑来的高分185真心觉得坑爹啊~因为他一个题目只有一篇文章，这也就罢了，关键托福和GRE不同，GRE的作文是百分之百考的题库~托福的作文是百分之零……起码我考了5次，（好吧，这其实不是什么光荣的数字）只有中过机经，从来没有出现过185的题~当然，楼楼既然已经有了，我就马后炮了。

那么，接下来我就啰嗦几句各家资料的优缺点哦……因为我自己都用过，所以，写的也是个人的经验，如果楼楼的感觉和我不一样，还是以楼楼自己的感觉为准。

1、185被认定是官方题库，虽然里面的题目从来没有在正式考试中出现过，但是不可能没有一点作用。我觉得，185对于考生来说，是一个了解托福独立写作的最基本的东西，通过185你会知道托福独立写作到底考什么话题。仔细浏览一下185的范文就会发现，里面有很多题目是可以用同一篇文章搞定的。所以，我自己当初是这么做的：把185的题目分类。打个比方来说吧，学习类的分一起，教育类的，传媒类的……还有什么建筑类的之类之类的……

分类之后呢，你就可以专门只看一类的文章。比如建筑类吧，一般都会告诉你，在某某地方建一个什么东西，有什么好处和不好的地方。看过几篇建筑类的范文就会发现……很多理由都是一致的。比如修建东西能够促进经济发展什么的，带来环境污染什么的……这些东西就是万能理由。那么你看了这些文章之后，就会知道，碰上这个类型的作文要从哪方面下手了。

不过，185有一个很致命的缺点就是他一道题目一篇文章，所以你能用上的例子并不多。我手上有一本资料，也是185的题库写的作文，但是它一道题目几乎都是好几篇文章，而且……最关键的是，185的作者李笑来是个中国人，再怎么厉害总归是有中国人的痕迹的。但是我手上这篇资料，好像是叫《ANSWER TO THE TOEFL ESSAY》什么什么的，是美国人写的。所以语句非常地道，楼楼可以修改一下用成自己的句型。它的名字不是重点啦，楼楼想要的话，留下邮箱我发给你……我托福的资料还大把大把的在呢，没舍得删

总之，如果你看完了185和那个《ANSWER TO THE TOEFL ESSAY》的话，独立写作就算是差不多了。因为就算是你草草看了一遍，也知道什么样的类型要用什么样的理由来说。剩下的怎么办呢？因为不少人都说185的题目太老啦，万一在考场上碰见的题目不属于里面的任何一个怎么办？嗯嗯，这个时候就轮到万能的机经出场了。考试之前搜一下小马，竹子，康老师的机经吧，根据机经来准备个10几篇作文就差不多了~

我用了这么多次（好吧，这真的没什么值得高兴的……一次过线是最好的了~），觉得小马家的最准。楼楼可以在新浪微博上找一个叫“托福机考经验”的用户，它会无偿在微盘上分享机经，供考生免费下载。我就是用他家的机经哟，真的很准啦~

2、写作真经的那些事儿
写作真经我只用过1和2，同理，不用买书了，直接网上下载。我是在新浪爱问共享里面下载的，楼楼有需要的话，可以在新浪下，或者找我，老规矩留个邮箱……写作真经123都差不多，看一本就够了~我买了1和2，但是也只看了2而已，123的不同只是他们选的真题不同罢了~~

写作真经的最大特点就是它都用的真题来做案例~但是因为题目的数量不多，所以我认为，它在做独立写作这一块，不如185的信息量大。所以，我个人是把写作真经当成专门的综合写作复习来看的。上面有综合写作的模板，楼楼只要背熟那个模板，然后进行几次模拟测试，让自己习惯那个考试的节奏就可以了。写作真经的综合写作模板很靠谱，我靠着这个模板拿到了5分的综合写作~是满分哟（瞧我，臭不要脸地得瑟了~）

综合写作说到底其实考的还是你的听力问题。因为阅读的时间比较长（3分钟，绝对绰绰有余让你看那篇小文章看的滚瓜烂熟）。看阅读是有技巧的，首先先看第一段和其他每一段的第一句话，对阅读文章的作者的论点有个基本印象，接着才来看细节~别担心阅读看不完也没事，听力是最重要的，因为阅读文章是一直出现在屏幕上的。听力一般都是这样的：老师在第一句话就说了，reading passage 是不对的，然后1，怎么不对，2，怎么不对，3，怎么不对。所以你只要把123听出来，听力的细节稍微留心就可以了~

好吧，总结性地回答一下楼楼的问题：185题目老，但是可以作为托福写作入门书籍，楼楼可以分类看；写作真经123没啥子差别，而且只是综合写作比较好用，因为就独立写作来说，题量太少了；综合写作要针对性练习听力，综合写作的lecture很明显地分为了三段，你要记住每一段的内容（其实可以从阅读里面来找反的就行了，这样的话在听之前也有个大概印象……），基本上考前看看机经的综合写作，平时听听力的时候顺带练习一下就可以了~

托福第一篇来作文其自实对写作技巧和能力要求不高；主要考察对阅读文本的概括能力和听力文段的复述程度。
开始写作考试后先阅读文章（3分钟），你要做的是读懂每段大意并进行概括（如果能记在纸上最好，没时间的话还是要以读懂为先）；
阅读文章后开始播放听力文段（2分钟左右），你要做的是尽可能地记下听力中播放出的信息（能记下原词原句最好，避免自己改写）；
开始写文章后要分清段落，按照阅读和听力中的first/second/third等标志词进行分段；每段既要包括阅读文本的概括（次要略写）又要包括听力文段的复述（主要详写）；
注意事项：阅读文本的概括不要照抄原文，要用自己的话概括；听力文段的复述尽量用听力材料中的原词原句，复述相似程度越高得分越高；托福第一篇作文不必拘泥模板，概括阅读文本和复述听力文段就行了。

有的！在ets出的官方指导上！但是！啊啊啊，纯粹是黑钱啊，那本书巨厚无比！价格与页数成正比。。。
不过话说回来，如果想要新托福拿高分，这个还是必须要买的。里面所有题型都有介绍，还有音频资料和习题！这是非常关键的，因为新托福实际上就考两个东西：听力和听力～！！！！
推荐去买一本officialguide，就是新东方说的og，如果你报了新东方的托福班它应该会在教材里替你买。还是那句话，想高分，老老实实做og吧，，，

Since people's criteria for success differ, there is much debate over whether only those who make a lot of money are successful. As far as I am concerned, in today's society that stresses on indivial achievement, money provides the best evaluation of one's accomplishment.
To begin with, as a standardized measurement used for comparing values, money is objective rather than subjective, so it is considered an authentic reflection of one's achievement. As different people hold different understandings of success, assessing the amount of one's earnings has become universally accepted as a rule to measure one's success. Each year, Fortune Magazine publishes a special issue to rank the top 100 most successful people throughout the world according to their yearly income, because there are no other methods to rely on.
In addition, the amount of money one makes is the consequence of one's hard work and talent. To deny the accomplishment wealth brings is equal to deny the sources from which it springs. In the past, I only believed in spiritual values and then leapt rashly to the conclusion that the best thing in life involves no money at all. It is my uncle who showed me the significance of money and changed my opinion. He told me he respected money and made it a goal to strive for in his way towards success. Because he would have to pay a price for it in terms of time, thought and energy. Graally, I came to realize it is the mental and physical labor he devotes in the process of making money that paves his way for self-accomplishment, and thus deserves appreciation and respect.
Finally, money is the most powerful possession in one's lifetime. As everyone knows, success is the ability to do whatever one wants to and to be satisfied with oneself. There is hardly anything that can be done without a certain amount of money. Indeed, with money, one can meet his or her material demand in life, such as taking effective medicines, living in magnificent houses, eating various delicious food, and so on. Also, with money, one can do a lot of meaningful things to benefit others, such as donations to poor people. All these will not only satisfy one's need for personal fulfillment, but also add grandness to one's success.
In conclusion, money serves as a measurement of one's achievement. But we should keep in mind that only those who obtain money by hardworking and use it to benefit the society are really successful.

Both the reading and listening are discussing 3 reasons that can explain why gulf sturgeon jump out of water. While the passage believes so, the lecturer casts doubt on the writer’s view from the 3 aspects below.

Firstly, in the reading passage, they are jumping for flying insects. On thecontrary, the professor says that they are fully fed in gulf of Mexico in winter, so they do not eat anything in Florida in summer. Moreover, they are seeking food under the sea rather than in the air.

Secondly, the professor opposes reading’s idea that they are jumping to get rid of parasites. He states that it is impossible because the parasites are in their bodies. In addition, some fish like sturgeon with parasites will not jump.

Finally, the professor disapproves the reading’s idea that they are jumping for aggression. Many tourists have been hurt by sturgeon. However, the professor claims that it is not convincing because they also jump while there are no ships.
