首先你要了解審稿時間問題：
雖然國外的權威學術期刊其審稿流程是比較嚴格的，但審稿周期一般情況下不是很長。審稿時間是由編輯初審時間、審稿人審稿時間、編輯給出意見的時間組成的。

編輯初審時間

當你的稿件投到雜志社後，編輯會對稿件進行必要的審閱，看是否符合該期刊的辦刊原則，對不符合原則的稿件，編輯可以直接拒稿，這也為了減輕審稿人的負擔；還有就是要看稿件所涉及的領域，好找該領域的審稿人審稿。一般情況下會由主編安排副主編去找審稿人，有的則由某個編輯直接找審稿人。編輯初審時間一般在1－2周，遇特殊情況，如法定假期、編輯出差等，審稿時間會更長。

審稿人審稿時間

這一階段審稿周期比較長，幾乎占整個審稿周期的一多半時間。一般情況下，雜志給審稿人的審稿時間一般是：通訊2－3周，全文3－4周，但由於審稿人只是義務，沒有責任，所以如果超出這個時間，編輯也只能催促一下，如果審稿人一直沒有審稿，編輯部可能重新找審稿人，這樣的話，稿件的審稿時間就會特別長。

編輯部給出意見的時間

審稿人意見返回編輯部後，如果2－3個審稿人意見統一，編輯的結論就好下，如果不統一，編輯就有權做出決定，如果編輯決定不了，可能還要再找審稿人仲裁，這樣的審稿時間就會長了許多。編輯部給出意見的時間一般會在1周內。

不同的期刊審稿周期是不同的，過長的審稿時間對有些作者來說絕對是沒有好處的，比如數學類的論文，所以審稿周期的長短也是作者選擇投稿期刊的考慮因素之一。
你都投五個月了還沒消息，你趕快去催稿吧。記住要委婉一些，其實兩周沒消息的時候你就可以問一下編輯了。
